With the festivals round the corner, the Uttar Pradesh Government has directed officials to make all efforts to maintain a peaceful environment in the state.
While addressing a high-level meeting, on Monday, Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath said, “All the district magistrates, district SPs and the entire administrative machinery should stay alert and careful all the times.”
He also added that a constant vigil should be kept on the chaotic and riotous elements and strict actions should be taken against them.
The conversation should be made with the Durga Puja committees, religious leaders, farmer organisations and civil society to make sure festivals are conducted peacefully with everyone’s coopertion.
The govt also issued guidelines to maintain law and order, communal harmony and urged the public to ensure strict compliance with the instructions given to prevent the COVID-19 pandemic in view of the occasion of Navratri, Durga Puja and Vijayadashmi (Dussehra), Chehallum and staging of Ram Leela.
For the establishment of the Durga Puja Pandal and Ram Leela stage, the government stated that care should be taken that public traffic is not affected. Small vehicles should be used for the immersion of idols as much as possible and the minimum number of people should be involved in the programme.
