Lucknow: In an initiative to protect the health of the people, a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) was signed between Lucknow Management Association and Medanta.

The MoU was signed by Health Director, Dr. Rakesh Kapoor on behalf of Medanta and Executive Director, Rajiv Pradhan on behalf of Lucknow Management Association at the Medanta campus located in Sushant Golf City.

According to the information released on behalf of Medanta’s Health Director and LMA’s Executive Director stated that to protect the health of its members, a high-level free check-up will be organised, in which the members will be examined free of cost and will be advised by the senior doctors.

Along with this, health seminars will be organised by a panel of senior doctors, in which the members will be given tips to avoid diseases and will be made aware. Advice will be given to the traders suffering from diseases and the members of LMA will be given priority treatment through Platinium Desk at Medanta Hospital.

Stating that awareness is the only protection, Pradhan said, “Due to the busy schedule, we are not able to pay proper attention to our health, as a result, along with aging, we also suffer from many diseases. Therefore, I request every one to take care of their health.”

Dr Rakesh Kapoor, said, “It is our privilege that we have got an opportunity to serve the health of our LMA members. Now, with the MoU signed, surely with the cooperation of both the organisations, the members of the association and their families will be made aware of their health.”

Health Exhibition Organised On This Occasion

A Health exhibition was also organised on this occasion in which Dr. Dharmendra Singh said that being overweight is one of the major risk factors for the onset of arthritis. “Our joints have the capacity to carry a certain amount of weight. Every kilogram of extra body weight puts four times the pressure on the knees,” he added.

Studies have shown that losing 10 percent of excess body weight can reduce the pain of arthritis by 50 percent. Most Indian patients go to the doctor for treatment when the pain becomes excessive and it affects their daily life.

In such chronic cases, traditional medical measures, such as medicines or lifestyle changes, do not provide long-term relief to the patient from pain. In such a situation, the only solution is to replace the joints.

It is worth mentioning that more than 100 members of the Lucknow Management Association participated in the seminar. On this occasion, VP Operation Saurabh Gupta from Medanta, along with Marketing Head Alok Khanna, Abhishek Mishra were present.
