Minister Subodh Uniyal takes meeting to discuss problems faced by Koteshwar Dam affected displaced people

Dehradun: Agriculture, Agricultural Marketing, Agricultural Processing, Agricultural Education, Plantation and Horticulture & Silk Development Minister Mr. Subodh Uniyal took a meeting to discuss the issues and problems faced by Koteshwar Dam affected displaced people, at Vidhan Sabha office on Monday.

The affected people had constructed 36 shops on the land belonging to THDC from year 1990 to 95. In different meetings, it was decided that the rehabilitation of it cannot be done. The dam affected persons are demanding that hey should be giving the cost of construction of the shops. The dam affected persons said that THDC had agreed in several meetings that when the shops were regulated, neither THDC nor the dam affected had the knowledge that the land was acquired by THDC. The minister showing a positive attitude towards the issue directed the officials to resolve the matter in the coordination committee meeting. Apart form this he also directed to resolve the rehabilitation issue of 415 families from 50 villages namely Nand Gram, Sheela Uppu, Pipola, Raula Kot etc in the coordination committee meeting.

The inspection of the damage to affected because of the Dam lake is done by joint team of experts. He also directed the officials to increase the frequency of the inspections. The minister directed the officials to control the damage done by the tower installed at Sautiyal Gaon. Before this, because of the tower current, fire incident occurred beside other damage. There is fear among the villagers. The minister issued order to take effective steps in this regard.

In the meeting, Commisoner Garhwal Dilip Javalkar, THDC Suprintendent Engineer MC Pandey,  Excutive Engineer Subodh Maithani, Koteshwar Dam MD Krishan Singh and others were present.
