New Delhi: A Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) between the Central Council for Research in Ayurvedic Sciences (CCRAS) and University of Latvia on establishment of an academic chair in Ayurveda was signed today at AYUSH Bhawan, New Delhi. The MoU was signed by Vaidya K.S. Dhiman, Director General, CCRAS and Dr. Valdis Pirags, Vice-Dean of the Faculty of Medicine and Director of the Centre of Complementary Medicine, University of Latvia in the presence of Shri Ajit M. Sharan, Secretary, Ministry of AYUSH, Shri A.K. Ganeriwala, Joint Secretary, AYUSH and Ms. Stella Ankrava, First Secretary, Embassy of the Republic of Latvia.
The MoU will provide a structured framework for taking forward academic and research activities in Ayurveda through deputation of an Ayurveda Professor to the University of Latvia.
