Mountaineer missing in Ladakh since 48 hours, search still on

Professional mountaineer Pemba Sherpa has gone missing on a mountain expedition in Ladakh. He remains untraceable for more than 48 hours now.

According to the sources, he went missing during an expedition in Saser Kangri which is situated on the Indo-China border.

“During the expedition, Pemba fell into a large ice cracker is missing since then,” sources added on condition of anonymity.

Indo-Tibetan Border Force (ITBP) has been assigned the task to trace Pemba. Another mountaineer named Basanta Sinha Roy was with Pemba in the expedition. Surprisingly, Pemba has successfully climbed the Mount Everest three times without oxygen cylinders.

Pemba was very familiar with the Himalayan mountain ranges. He is well-known among his counterparts as a trainer and guide.
