National Arts Exhibition Kala Darpan Inaugurated at Amity University

Lucknow: An event for the fine arts students to showcase and explore their creativity and talent, Two day National Art Exhibition “KALADARPAN 2017” inaugurated at Amity University Uttar Pradesh, Lucknow Campus today. This is the second National Exhibition being organized by Amity School of Fine Arts.

            This is an especially designed event for the fine arts students and upcoming professionals which will stimulate their young minds for better creativity and provide an opportunity to unfold creativity before the eminent artists of art World.

            Chief Guest Vandana Sahgal, the Principal and Dean of the Faculty of Architecture, Dr.A.P.J.Abdul Kalam Technical University, Uttar Pradesh inaugurated the exhibition by lighting the lamp. Founder Manjari Institute of Performing Arts, Manjari Pandey, Pro VC Amity University Lucknow Campus, Maj Gen. KK Ohri (AVSM)retd and Director Amity School of Fine Arts, Prof. Pooja Verma present on this occasion.

Director Amity School of Fine Arts & Fashion Technology, Prof. Pooja Verma welcomed the guests and said that Amity is the first and largest group of private educational institute in India. The Amity brand is synonymous with practical, industry-based education where we prepare global leaders, who can manage and lead change across the multicultural globe. Our mission is to make every student a success story.

On the occasion addressing the students Vandana Sahgal congratulated the Amity University for organizing such event and said that an art is the expression of inner thoughts. An arts student should be free to express their emotions. Art demands more concentration than any other field of career, He appreciated to the participants and said honest, hard and continues works are always become fruitful.

            Exhibition has a competition also in which more than 150 entries were received from  participants from different states like Karnataka, Maharashtra, Uttrakhand, Rajasthan, West Bengal and U.P. itself in the categories Drawing, Painting, Digital Arts and Photography.

            The first prize in the category Photography was won by Ajeet Kumar Singh while Rasbihari saha from Dinajpur got first prize of Painting category whereas Firoz Ahmad got first prize in drawing category. In digital arts category Aman Adil Ansari, Lucknow got first prize.

The event witnessed a large number of visitors appreciating the work done by young artists encouraging them to do better work in future. The paintings received special attention from the visitors as young artists experimented with their craft delighting the visitors. The Exhibition will be continuing on Thursday also.
