NIM Principal Col. Amit Bisht calls upon CM Trivendra

Dehradun: Principal of Nehru Institute of Mountaineering (NIM) Col. Amit Bisht called upon Chief Minister Mr. Trivendra Singh Rawat at CM residence on Friday. Pertaining to the development of Tehri Lake and other lakes of the state as Rowing and other water sports, adventure sports and center of adventure tourism, discussions were held regarding the role of Nehru Institute of Mountaineering. Along with this, the possibilities of development of Disaster Rescue helipads were also discussed. Chief Minister said that Tehri Lake is a fast emerging tourist spot of various adventure sports and water sports. State Government is constantly trying to encourage tourism activities and adventure sports in the state. Chief Minister said that local people need to be trained in disaster and relief work. Damage can be reduced by providing the basic information needed for rescue and relief to the people in the disaster areas. Disaster awareness programme should be run at the school level. Nehru Institute of Mountaineering (NIM) can play a significant role in this. Chief Minister assured all possible assistance and cooperation from the state government to Nehru Institute of Mountaineering (NIM).
