North central Railway geared up to provide COVID Care centre through 130 coaches readied for this purpose

North Central Railway has converted its 130 coaches as Covid Care Centers. The Coaches can be used for very mild cases that can be clinically assigned to the Covid Care centres as per guidelines issued by MoHFW. These coaches can be used when State has exhausted the facilities and needs to augment capacities for isolation of both suspect and confirmed Covid cases. As per the guidelines issued by MoHWF 03 important stations i.e. Prayagraj Jn. , Kanpur and Jhansi are identified for placement of these coaches and these stations are equipped with watering and charging facility for Covid care rakes . As per guidelines of MoHFW, State Governments would send the requisition to Railways. Railways will make allocation of these coaches to concerned State/UTs. After allocation by Railways, the train shall be placed, at required station with necessary infrastructure, and handed over to nominated district authority. Wherever the train is placed, watering, electricity, repairs required, catering arrangements, security shall be taken care by Railways.

Apart from Coach based Covid care centers, North Central railway has already created 651 Quarantine beds and 100 bedded each separate Covid ward in Central hospital Prayagraj and Divisional Railway Hospital Jhansi .

Based on written consent from concerned state governments, first outgoing Shramik special train of NCR is being operated on 08.05.20 from Aligarh to Purnea Jn. carrying 1282 students. Meanwhile till midnight of 08.05.20 NCR is expected to handle total 125 Shramik Special trains and have brought about 20000 migrants and other stranded persons through 17 terminating Shramik Special trains at different stations as per following details :
