New Delhi: A Parliamentary Delegation from Mexico led by Ms Guadalupa Murguia Gutierres, President, Chamber of Deputies, Congress of Mexico, called on President of India, Shri Ram Nath Kovind today at Rashtrapati Bhavan.
Welcoming the delegation, the President said India and Mexico are important political and economic partners and share deep democratic traditions. He congratulated the delegation on the centenary of the adoption of the Mexican Constitution. He thanked Mexico for its support for India’s candidature to the Nuclear Suppliers Group. He also said there was scope for further bilateral cooperation in areas such as solar energy and space technology.
The President pointed out that Prime Minister, Shri Narendra Modi had concluded a successful visit to Mexico in 2016. He added that India looked forward to the visit of HE Enrique Peña Nieto, the President of Mexico. He wished the delegation a fruitful stay in India.
