New Delhi: Union Human Resource Development Minister Shri Ramesh Pokhriyal ‘Nishank’ held a meeting with the Minister of Higher Education, Uttarakhand Dr. Dhan Singh Rawat and Member of Parliament, Pauri- Garhwal, Shri Tirath Singh Rawat regarding the permanent campus of National Institute of Technology (N.I.T), Uttarakhand here today. After the meeting Shri Pokhriyal informed that the permanent campus of National Institute of Technology, Uttarakhand will be established in Sumari village in Srinagar, Uttarakhand. The Minister also informed that the foundation stone of the permanent campus will be laid in the first week of September, this year.
The Minister also informed that out 309 acres of land, 203 acres has been identified for building the permanent campus. He further informed that the upcoming session of the N.I.T, Uttarakhand will be started in the temporary campus itself and a high-level committee will be made to transfer students from N.I.T, Jaipur campus. He said that for the next session, the process of admission will start from the permanent campus NIT, Uttarakhand.
The Minister reiterated that the infrastructure development for the permanent campus will happen in a mission mode. The Minister also hoped that the permanent campus of N.I.T, Uttarakhand will be a major support to the students who are studying in temporary campus.
