Department of Posts is expanding its services with constant innovation and has been become more customer-friendly by providing all the services under one roof in a hassle free manner. Postmaster General of Varanasi Region Mr. Krishna Kumar Yadav highlighted above while presiding over the meeting organized in Regional Office to review the performance of Postal Divisions and India Post Payments Bank branches functioning under Varanasi Region. Postmaster General emphasized on achieving the targets allocated in various services by conducting a comprehensive campaign in the remaining months of the current financial year, as well as by reaching and connecting the masses with various services which are being catered by the department. He also added that customer satisfaction and prompt work has a main role in service delivery. Hence, quick disposal of public grievances and sensitivity towards customers should be on top priority.
Postmaster General Mr. Krishna Kumar Yadav added that along with letters, Department of Posts is also providing many other people-oriented services in various areas like Savings Bank, Postal Life Insurance, Sukanya Samriddhi Account, India Post Payments Bank, Post Office Passport Seva Kendra, Aadhaar Enrollment and Updation. He informed that in the financial year 2022-23, more than 3.09 lakh new savings accounts, 76,000 India Post Payments Bank accounts, 14,000 IPPB Premium accounts and 29,000 Sukanya Samriddhi accounts has been opened in the Post offices under Varanasi Region. 6.49 lakh people have availed Aadhaar services through Post offices and India Post Payments Bank. In Varanasi Region, revenue of Rs 38.35 crore from savings bank services, Rs 3.73 crore from IPPB, Rs 5.65 crore from Speed Post, Rs 1.55 crore from Parcels and Rs 1.85 crore from Business Development services have been generated. Total premium of Rs 23.56 crore in Postal Life Insurance and Rs 9.81 crore in Rural Postal Life Insurance has been collected. So far, 804 villages have been declared as ‘Sampoorna Sukanya Samriddhi Gram’ and 379 villages have been declared as ‘Sampoorna Insurance Gram’ in Varanasi Region.
On this occasion Sr. Superintendent of Post offices, Varanasi (East) Division Rajan, Superintendent of Post offices, Varanasi (West) Division Hemant Kumar, Superintendent of Post offices, Ballia Sanjay Tripathi, Superintendent of Post offices, Ghazipur Krishna Chandra and Superintendent of Post Offices, Jaunpur apprised the Postmaster General about the progress of Postal services through a detailed presentation covering the revenue generation, operational parameter, implementation of various schemes, and target achievement in their divisions. Chief Manager of India Post Payments Bank Mukesh Mishra, Branch Manager Sublesh Singh, Sakshi Sinha , Rajesh Yadav, Ashish Kumar, Amit Singh, Assistant Superintendent Ashok Singh, Vipin Yadav, Dilip Yadav, Ajay Kumar, Postal Inspector Ramesh Yadav, Shrikant Pal, Nityanand Tiwari, Vikas Verma, Accounts Officer MP Verma, Santoshi Rai, Rahul Verma, Shree Prakash Gupta , Vivek Kumar, Bhupendra and other officers/employees were remain present.
Assistant Director, Shri Ram Milan said that all Divisional Superintendents should procure maximum business in different areas by regular communication with the public and organizing maximum Postal melas in rural areas so that all the targets can be achieved in time.
