Dehradun: Under project “Sakhi” of Pratishtha Foundation, the organisation organised a seminar in a worker’s township near ISBT. During which the organisation’s volunteers informed the girls and women about periods and menstruation and told them that we should talk about this topic freely so that there are no difficulties due to lack of knowledge. The girls and women also asked several types of questions during the seminar which were answered by the NGO’s volunteers, they also informed them about various false beliefs. It is worth pondering that under this project, the organisation will spread awareness among women and girls about menstruation by visiting different townships and schools. Also they will be informed about the health and heigene maintenance during their periods.
During this Manisha Chamyal, member of organisation told that women and girls should talk about this topic openly.
In the end, Megha Malla, NGO’s member thanked all the girl volunteers and told that the efforts of the organisation are to organise such seminars regularly to inform these women more and more about menstruation.
On this occasion, Manisha Chamyal, Pranjali Negi, Megha Malla, Kanchan Lakhera, Anjali Lakhera, Vaishali Gurung, Shweta Singh, Kritika Gupta, Kirtika Dayal, Ankita Gupta, Meghna Gupta, Himani, Dipshi Garg and Nitya Aggarwal were present.
