New Delhi: The Minister of State (Independent Charge) for Youth Affairs and Sports Shri Vijay Goel will pay a two day visit to Kerala from 15th June 2017. During his stay Shri Goel will participate in the inaugural function of the Usha School of Athletics and new Synthetic Track at Kinalur, Kozhikode. The Usha School of Athletics will be formally inaugurated by Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi from New Delhi via video conferencing on 15th June, 2017.
Usha School of Athletics is built on 30 acre land allotted by the Government of Kerala. It has 8-lane synthetic athletic track supported 100% (Rs. 8.5 crore) by the Government of India from National Sports Development Fund.
During his visit, Shri Vijay Goel will also address a meeting organized by NYKS at Kozhikode. He will also inaugurate the website of State Sports Department and Kerala State Sports Council, Kerala at Malabar Palace, Kozhikode.
The Minister will also review the preparations of FIFA Under-17 World Cup with officials.
It may be mentioned here that Shri Vijay Goel has already visited Ashwini Nachappa’s Academy in Madikeri, Karnataka and Gopichand Academy at Hyderabad to personally see the facilities and their utilization.
