Dehradun: This year’s ‘Char Dham Yatra’ would be conducted in a befitting manner as the state government has completed all necessary arrangements for the Yatra. More number of pilgrims would visit the state in comparison to the last year, this was stated by Uttarakhand Urban Development Minister Madan Kaushik after inaugurating the newly constructed PWD Bhawan in Dehradun on Tuesday. He said many renowned personalities and Chief Ministers are expected to witness the opening ceremony of Kedarnath shrine. He said government has started many developmental works in the past year and ring roads would be constructed in Dehradun, Haridwar, Rudrapur, and Kashipur.
The permission was granted for ring road in Dehradun, and first instalment of money has been released. He said government is working on sewage treatment plant and Dehradun would be covered 100 percent in the next five years. He said that the state government is credible and transparent.
He said funds and resources are required for development and there is no shortage of both these two things under the leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi. Harbans Kapoor, Local MLA said that PWD is the basis organization of development and schools, roads, and government buildings cannot be imagined without PWD. He hoped that the PWD Bhawan would be useful in developmental activities. The Main office of Chief Engineer PWD has been constructed at a cost Rs 813.99 lakh and has a covered area of 26672 square feet.
Additional Chief Secretary Om Prakash, Chief Engineer PWD H.K. Upreti, Principal Engineer R.P. Purohit, Superintending Engineer Rajendra Goyal were present.
