New Delhi: Armaan Kumar, a student of the TKWs Institute of Banking & Finance, Delhi won the ICICI StockMIND Season 5 in the Undergraduate category beating 2.48 lakh participants from 579 colleges including the prestigious IIM, MDI, IIFT, SRCC and other leading Commerce & Management Institutes of India. The Graduate category award was grabbed by Vijay Shukla a student from IIM-Sirmaur. This is India’s biggest virtual stock market competition. It starts with every student being given Rs.15 lakh virtual currency and allowed to trade in live stock markets for 7 trading sessions. The participant who earns highest returns is the winner.
Speaking on the occasion, Vineet Arora, EVP, ICICI Securities explained how the event is a net practice for stock markets and that students benefit from the advantage of long-term compounding. Prof. Amit Goyal, Founding Director, TKWs Institute of Banking & Finance received the revolving trophy and said “Since the inception, our vision has been to establish TKWs IBF as the IIM of Banking. It is indeed a very proud moment for us. Today our students are being recognized for their trading skills amongst the IIMs. It has been possible because of our relentless focus on Experiential Learning and the persistent efforts of our faculty and students.”
Armaan Kumar, the winner from TKWs IBF expressed his gratitude towards the Institute and said “…our faculty has always encouraged us for the industry and not for exams. Now I truly understand the importance of infinite hours in practice that we were made to put.”
