Dehradun: Tehri Festival will start from November. This time, the festival would be celebrated in a new way. A plan to develop tourist activities around Tehri Lake has also been prepared. Chief Secretary Mr. Utpal Kumar Singh was holding a meeting about the Tehri Lake development at secretariat on Thursday. Chief Secretary said that the Home Stay should be promoted in the surrounding villages of Tehri Lake. So that, the income of the villagers could be increased. He told the Secretary Tourism that DPR of the projects worth investing should be prepared for the Investor’s Meet, in order to attract capital investment in tourism sector. Secretary Tourism Dilip Javalkar said that DPR has been prepared for five projects costing Rs. 176 crore. Land has also been identified for this. The projects includes star hotel for hospitality in the Koti Athur; hillside resort for the Wellness in Ganjana; Lakeside resort for the Wellness in Goran; theme restaurant for the hospitality in Ganjana and institute of Ayurveda for Ayush in Goran. Discussion on the preparation of Tehri’s master plan was also held during the meeting.
The meeting was attended by Secretary R. Meenakshi Sundaram, Arvind Singh Hayanki, Vinod Prasad Raturi, DM Tehri Sonika and other officials.
