Dehradun: Tourists will now be able to travel with their family and friends in ultra luxury van caravans to remote places of Uttarakhand. The special vehicle Caravan equipped with high comfort features was inaugurated by the Tourism Minister Shri Satpal Maharaj on Friday.
Tourism Minister Shri Satpal Maharaj said that the caravan has been included in the Veer Chandra Singh Garhwali Tourism Self Employment Scheme. These are also included under MSME under Tourism Plan 2018 where local people can buy caravans. It will directly benefit both the tourists and the people of Uttarakhand.
The Tourism Minister said that this camping vehicle will provide all the facilities like home for the tourists who are fond of traveling. With this vehicle one can travel anywhere by road while maintaining social distancing.
He said that this vehicle has facilities like LCD TV, Satellite TV, GPRS Navigation System, Washroom, Pantry, Coffee Maker, Microwave etc. Through caravans, tourists can make their Uttarakhand trip memorable in remote areas.
Smt. Poonam Chand, Additional Director, Tourism Department informed that through caravan, tourists will be able to travel by road and reach their favorite destination.
On this occasion Mr. Yugal Kishore Pant, Additional Secretary Tourism, Col. Ashwini Pundir Chief Executive Officer (Adventure Tourism), Mr. Vivek Singh Chouhan Additional Director, Mr. Yogendra Singh Gangwar Deputy Director, Mr. S.S. Samant Senior Research Officer and other officers and employees of the department were present.
