Tourism Secretary holds meeting with DTDO’s and officials

Secretary Tourism, Mr. Dilip Jawalkar chaired a review meeting with District Tourism Development Officers (DTDO’S) and officials from Uttarakhand Tourism Development Board (UTDB) here on Friday. A thorough discussion on development under various schemes was done during the meeting.

Mr. Jawalkar instructed DTDO’s to sensitize people regarding the government schemes. He also directed the officials to search and add new locations that can be promoted under tourism.

With this regards a discussion was done with the DTDO’s to work under Honourable Chief Minister’s announcements.

During the meeting, the Additional Chief Executive Officer (ACEO), Mr. Yugal Kishore Pant said that along with finding new places in districts, DPRs should be prepared for the proposal so that the places can be developed as soon as possible. He also gave instructions to the DTDO’s to use commonly available resources in the area for contractions so that employment can be generated for the locals as well as tourists coming to Uttarakhand can learn more about the unique infrastructure style common in Uttarakhand. He also highlighted that DTDO with the help of District Administration should also work to sensitize tourists to follow Covid appropriate behavior, especially in famous tourist spots of the districts.

 Additional Chief Executive Officer Col Ashwin Pundir Adventure Tourism, Additional Director Vivek Chauhan, Additional Director Infrastructure Lt. Deepak Khanduri, Additional Director Poonam Chand, Deputy Director Yogendra Kumar Gangwar, Research Officer S.S. Samant, Ground Sports Specialist Ranveer Singh Negi, District Tourism Officer Atul Bhandari, Ramesh Prasad from Planning Department, District Tourism Development Officers of all the districts were connected through the virtual medium.
