As the Bharatiya Janata Party is headed towards massive win Tripura assembly election, BJP President Amit Shah on Saturday said the party’s victory is a victory for Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s politics of development.

“I thank brothers and sisters of Tripura for their massive support to the BJP. This is the victory for Modi’s politics of development and his commitment to the welfare of northeastern region of India,” Shah said in a tweet.

After the mid trend showed that BJP was leading in more than 40 seats in the states, Amit Shah addressed a press conference and took a dig at the Left.

“It has been proved that the Left is not right for any part of India,” said Shah.

“Victory after victory is a positive sign. This has boosted our confidence even more for 2019,” he added while talking about the state election result.

In response to a question posed by a reporter during the press conference Amit Shah took a jibe at Congress President Rahul Gandhi’s absence saying that ‘there are elections in Italy as well.”

The BJP leader has clarified that even if his party wins the majority in Tripura, members of BJP’s ally Indigenous People’s Front of Tripura (IPFT) will be included in the cabinet.

“BJP might have a clear majority in Tripura but we will also include other members of our alliance in the cabinet,” he said.

Talking about Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s ‘Act East Policy’, he said, “In 2014, Narendra Modi Ji had said western side of the nation has developed a lot but the same has not reached the eastern side yet. He immediately started his ‘Act East Policy’. I believe this is the victory of his policies, stamped by the three states of the north-east.”

For the first time, the BJP is inching towards forming the government in Tripura after toppling the Left Front led by Communist Party of India-Marxist which had been ruling the state since 1993. (The Statement)
