New Delhi: Union Ministers from some key ministries will interact with Regional Editors from North and North Eastern States during a two-day conference in Chandigarh tomorrow. The conference is being organized by Press Information Bureau to provide an opportunity to the media persons from the regions to have direct interaction with ministers and senior officials for getting deeper perspective of Government’s recent initiatives and road map planned in some of the key sectors.
To be inaugurated by the Governor of Punjab and UT Administrator, Shri V.P Singh Badnore and Union Home Minister, Shri Rajnath Singh, the conference will have interactive sessions by Minister of Home Affairs, Shri Rajnath Singh, Minister of Women & Child Development, Smt. Maneka Sanjay Gandhi, Minister of State for Development of North Eastern Region (Independent Charge) and Prime Minister Office, Personnel, Public Grievances & Pensions, Department of Atomic Energy and Department of Space, Dr Jitender Singh, Agriculture & Farmers’ Welfare Minister, Shri Radha Mohan Singh, Minister of Road Transport, Highways & Shipping, Shri Nitin Gadkari and Consumer Affairs, Food & Public Distribution Minister, Shri Ram Vilas Paswan. Senior officials of the ministries will also be present during these sessions.
An exclusive session on media communication has also been scheduled to have feedback from the participants for better understanding their communication needs.
Editors and senior media persons from ten States and one Union territories-Haryana, Punjab, Himachal Pradesh, Uttarakhand, Jammu and Kashmir, Uttar Pradesh ,Assam, Manipur, Tripura, Mizoram and Chandigarh will participate in the Regional Editors Conference. An exhibition showcasing Government’s initiatives of the recent past is also being held on the occasion.
