New Delhi: The question papers in the recruitment examinations conducted by Staff Selection Commission (SSC) & Union Public Service Commission (UPSC) are normally in Hindi and English. In some examinations, the question papers are in English only. However, in the Civil Services Examinations conducted by UPSC, candidates are provided the option of answering all the question papers, except the Qualifying Language Papers, Paper-A and Paper-B, in any of the languages included in the Eighth Schedule to the Constitution of India or in English. Also, in the examination for recruitment of Multi Tasking Staff (non-Technical), conducted by SSC, the candidates have the option of answering in the descriptive paper in English or in any language included in the Eighth Schedule to the Constitution of India.
As the Staff Selection Commission makes its recruitments on an All India basis, state-wise recruitment data is not maintained centrally by SSC. During the last three years, the number of candidates recruited by the Commission through various examinations conducted by it are given below:
- 2014-15 : 58066
- 2015-16 : 25138
- 2016-17 : 68880
This was stated by the Minister of State (Independent Charge) of the Ministry of Development of North Eastern Region (DoNER), MoS PMO, Personnel, Public Grievances & Pensions, Atomic Energy and Space, Dr. Jitendra Singh in a written reply to question in the Lok Sabha today.
