Vice President condoles the passing away of Shri P.P. Rao

New Delhi: The Vice President of India, Shri M. Venkaiah Naidu has condoled the passing away of an expert in Constitutional Law and Senior Advocate, Shri P.P. Rao. In message, he said that his personal association with him goes back to the time to his early years in public life as he also hailed from the same district Nellore (United) in the state of Andhra Pradesh. Shri Rao was elected as the President of the Supreme Court Bar Association in 1991, and was awarded the Padma Bhushan in 2006, he added.

Following is the text of Vice President’s message:

“I am deeply grieved to hear about the demise of a doyen of Constitutional Law, Senior Advocate, Shri P.P. Rao.

My personal association with him goes back to the time to my early years in public life as he also hailed from the same district Nellore (United) in the state of Andhra Pradesh. He was considered as one of the foremost constitutional law experts in the country and had completed 50 years of his legal practice in July 2017.

Shri Rao was elected as the President of the Supreme Court Bar Association in 1991, and was awarded the Padma Bhushan in 2006.

I convey my deepest condolences to the bereaved members of the family and join the nation in praying for eternal peace for the departed soul.”
