New Delhi: enthusiastic sky-gazers are all set to witness today’s uniue celestial trifecta. Let’s understand what will happen, concurrently:

A Supermoon – The Moon is at/near its closest point to Earth

A Blue Moon – The 2nd full moon in a month

A Blood Moon – A total lunar eclipse will give the moon a reddish tint. The red hue because of the Earth’s shadow on the Moon during a lunar eclipse

Here’s all you need to know about the event which will be visible from corner to corner of the country.

This super blue blood moon celestial event will occur today around 4:21 pm and last until 8:42 pm (all Indian Standard Time).

Parts of Northeastern India will be the first to witness the lunar eclipse, between 4.21pm and 5.18pm .

The rest of the country can observe this Super Blue Blood Moon between 5.18pm and 6.21pm.

Those on the west coast and a few parts of Rajasthan will be able to watch it between 6.21pm and 7.37pm.

Avid sky gazers can enjoy the Super blue blood moon the total lunar eclipse of 2018 from ease of their homes with a live stream. NASA will start its live stream on NASA TV. The live stream will embark on at 5:30am EST (4pm IST). There’s a web stream also available at NASA.gov/live.
