Weary of black clothes, Vasundhara government acts once bitten, twice shy during Modi meet in Jaipur

Uncategorized

Anyone wearing black clothes and still getting to be a part of Prime Minister Modi’s public meet in Jaipur today, must consider himself lucky.

In a bid to scuttle any anti-government protests, the state government apparatus had banned black clothes inside the meeting venue.

Eventually, it resulted in a chaotic situation where scores of BJP workers wearing black clothes, burqa-clad women, Sikhs, children carrying black handkerchief faced a tough time at Jaipur’s Amroodon Ka Bagh – the meeting venue.

Clearly, after PM Modi’s Jhunjhunu rally, where several protestors waved black clothes at Modi and Vasundhara, the state government and BJP acted once bitten, twice shy.

There were strict instructions issued not to allow anyone wearing black clothes inside the venue. Infact, one of the Sikh men, wearing black-coloured turban faced a tough time inside before PM Modi arrived. He later turned out to be a BJP worker.

“This is the biggest irony. A man who calls himself Pradhana Sevak does not want to confront the reality. In a democracy, there should be a tendency to oppose and tolerate. I don’t know what makes the PM fear that the sale of black clothes were banned since 2-3 days. It is an indicator of the fact that BJP, which has lost base, does not have the capacity to bear any kind of opposition. The PM also did not pay any homage to the martyred jawans and farmers who committed suicide. This is absolute insensitivity displayed by him.”, Archana Sharma, Congress Spokesperson, mentioned.
