At a press conference for spreading awareness of the campaign, Bas Ab Bahut Ho Gaya – Enough Is Enough!, Farhan Akhtar made waves by speaking about taboo topics such as sexual harassment and molestation in Bollywood. The campaign is being led by the Population Foundation Of India (PFI) and Farhan AkhtarтАЩs initiative MARD (Men Against Rape and Discrimination). Farhan was accompanied by director Feroz Abbas Khan and Poonam Muttreja, the Executive Director of PFI.
As the press raised serious questions about sexual harassment, abuse, and safety of female actors, Farhan insisted that things can only be put in motion once the women speak up about their abusers.
When another journalist spoke about live-in relationship and itтАЩs ruining тАЬfamily valuesтАЭ and the тАЬdaughters of the countryтАЭ, Farhan made the simple point about two consenting adultsтАЩ decisions shouldnтАЩt bother anyone.
When another journalist kept insisting on getting answers about sexual harassment in film industry, Farhan Akhtar, and the rest of the panelists, got a bit agitated. However, Farhan still answered the question, bringing the point back to how harassment issues exist, not only exist in the film industry, but in every industry.
Farhan is expected to perform at the much-awaited Lalkaar concert on 21 November as a part of the Bas Ab Bahut Ho Gaya – Enough Is Enough! campaign.
